Soleá and her dancers at the recording of 'Palante'

UPDATE: Soleá releases music video of ‘Palante’

Soleá will represent Spain at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020. Spanish public broadcaster RTVE revealed the news that the 9-year-old from Sevilla 'is having a dream fulfilled' with participating in the Contest.

She received the good news during La Hora de La 1, a Spanish TV show, during which she also had her first interview.

Soleá Fernandez Moreno was born in Sevilla on 19 June 2011 and comes from one of the most important flamenco families in Spain: the Farruco. Since she was little, her enthusiasm for singing and dancing stood out, as she made her debut in a family show at the popular La Maestranza theatre.

When Soleá was only 4 years old, she was the star of a Christmas show, Navidad En Familia, where she made her debut as an actress and dancer.

Representing Spain at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest is "a dream coming true", she said. "It is everything, it is incredible to perform on this stage and for so many people."

UPDATE 7 October:
Soleá’s music video of Palante has just been released. The song conveys a positive message and encouragement in times of the Covid-19 crisis. With her catchy rhythm and positive message, Soleá wants to encourage youth to always look ahead and emphasize the importance of unity. It's a message that complements this year's Junior Eurovision slogan Move the world. Check out the video of her song below:

Soleá and her hometown Sevilla are the main protagonists in the video that aims to encourage us all in the face of the crisis caused by the coronavirus. The video was recorded in places that represent Spain, its nature and the dance culture. Using The Torre del Oro, Plaza de España and Parque de María Luisa as backdrops, Soleá hopes to convey a feeling of happiness, optimism and a 'never give up' attitude.
