Julia Kedhammar is 14 years old (born in 2000), is in the seventh grade at Kulturama focused on song, dance and theater and lives in Skogås, south of Stockholm.
Her sister Alva is in 5th grade in the same school. She has after winning Junior Melodifestivalen spent the summer on tour with Nickelodeon, with among others Anton Ewald and Yohio. In between, she has also managed to make time to perform in a half-dozen shopping centers and a festival gig with other artists like Alcazar, Timbuktu, etc.
Julia spent the first three school years in a nearby public school, after which she in grade 4 applied and was accepted at the Adolf Fredrik music school and Kulturama. The choice fell on Kulturama in Hammarby Sjöstad and this she / we have never regretted.
As a ten year old Julia recorded her first album, "If I could make a wish - Swedish Children's Favorites" where she sang 20 of Swedens most desired children songs. This after Sony Music paid attention to a Youtube clip where Julia appeared with a Michael Jackson song at school.
The album was a commercial success both physically and digitally, and led to Julia was given the opportunity to perform with these songs. Everything from smaller, more intimate events such as baptism ceremony’s to be the warm-up act for major Swedish artists. The digital distribution of the album also led to a United States tour in the Swedish areas in Minnesota, North Dakota and Illinois during the summer of 2012. A total of 12 towns and gigs took place in schools and shopping centers to finish the tour at the city park in Minneapolis with 7000 visitors. Julia already has an extensive discography, and has recorded over 100 songs available on 8 albums. These are both physical and digital recordings.
On 21 July this year, Julia was heard in the American television series “Rectify”. There it was her interpretation of "Tom Dooley", with a self-written rap part, which ends the program and rolls over the end credits.
She has also, together with Bobby Ljunggren, Thomas G: son sent in a contribution to this year's national selection to Eurovision Song Contest as a lyricist. The result of this work is now not yet known, hopeful but uncertain...
Our Julia is a happy and lively girl with a big heart. She puts a lot of time on the vocals and the music, but also in soccer. She plays in Älvsjö AIK's development team and spends many nights a week with workouts at Älvsjö IP. Otherwise she devotes as much time as possible to spending time with friends.
