Belarusian broadcaster BTRC decided to select their participant for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 internally. Arina Pehtereva will represent her country on 29 November at the 18th edition of the Contest with the song 'Aliens'.
Arina Pehtereva was born on 14 March 2008 in Mogilev, Belarus. She has been a music fan from a young age and started taking vocal lessons at 6-years-old. Arina has been taking part - and won! - at many national and international vocal competitions and festivals since 2014. She also took part in 'The Voice Kids' and has repeatedly become a finalist in Belarus' national selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
About her song Aliens, Arina says: "The song was written in spring when the coronavirus spread around the world. The idea of my song is simple: The world has stopped, borders have closed, people can no longer visit each other and even the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 is different. But I believe that the future is in our hands, and it is up to us children to save the world and make it better!"
